The Disability Discrimination Act 1995 was passed to introduce new laws and measures aimed at ending discrimination against disabled people. Implementation began in 1996 and the full effect of the Act commenced from 2004 onwards.
Anyone providing goods, facilities or services to the public is affected by the Act.
1st of October 1999, Part 3 of the Act stipulates:
That it is the duty of a service provider to make any reasonable adjustments. A service provider may have to provide an Auxiliary Aid or service, if it would enable (or make it easier for) disabled people to make use of their goods, facilities or services.
Also under the Building Regulations 1991 - it is a requirement to provide access and facilities for disabled people, particularly 'Aids to Communication'.
Allansound Communications can design, install and commission systems to facilitate the hearing impaired to help your organisation conform to the Disability Discrimination Act 1995.
